WB020: Pyroluria. What is life like after Diagnosis and Treatment? This episode explores the topic.

In this second episode exploring the topic of Pyroluria, Carolyn shares what life is like now two and a half years since the diagnosis. With the support of her Integrative Practitioner, an intense supplement protocol, a Food as Medicine Paleo orientated diet and many life changes Carolyn now feels she is at the peak of her Wellness journey but maybe she needs to make some hard decisions to support her body in its quest to function optimally. The challenge it seems to Carolyn is the impact the Pyroluria has on achieving Homeostasis in the body and the many stresses and stressors of modern life impacting this. Carolyn shares her ongoing journey, the challenges of having three children also diagnosed with Pyroluria and the importance of having the support of an excellent Integrative Practitioner. Join Carolyn as she talks about the Community Wellness Seminars she has organised which are just commencing and are a way for her Community to be more informed, empowered and motivated to live a healthier life. There are four Seminars in total and in this episode Carolyns talk us through the first Seminar which chronicles her own health journey, self reflections and what she has learnt. A long journey with chronic illness where there was one roadblock after another with the Mainstream system led her into the Integrative Medicine arena where she was able to receive the support that has enabled her body to heal and her Wellness journey now in the next stage of embracing life, setting new goals and sharing her Wellness message.

WB005: Pain Management

A focus on managing physical pain with an exploration of self management techniques and how our mental and emotional resilience can influence the way we cope with pain. In this episode Carolyn reflects on her own wellness journey and how she didn’t manage her acute and chronic pain well. Pain medications were the main treatment used but now she can look back and reflect on how her health challenges have opened up a whole new world of self management techniques including mindfulness, nutrition, gentle exercise and self care. Carolyn talks about the public events coming up in National Pain Week and her experiences living with a husband and daughter who have ongoing pain management issues.
